Aside from being one of the greenest “Leave No Trace” festivals in the Americas, Envision Festival continues to show its loyalty to protect and preserve mother Gaia. The Costa Rican festival, nestled between the sea and jungle, just announced their challenge to plant 10,000 trees to celebrate a more sustainable decade for generations to come.
Envision is founded on seven pillars where two, sustainability and education, are highlighted in the many environmental initiatives. The festival founders believe in the power of rebuilding local communities, protecting the indigenous culture, and keeping sustainability around the grounds at the forefront. They’ve taken on countless projects over the years in direct service of this mission, including annual beach cleanups with the local youth center they founded, funding a local lifeguard program, and raising $17,000 for a water infrastructure program in Uvita, just to name a few.
Now Envision Festival is taking action one step further with the 10k challenge to help offset the horrific damage caused in the Amazon and Australian fires. Organizers are calling all fans and attendees to do their part by participating in this challenge and donating when possible. One participant will win two (2) 7-day VIP tickets + one (1) $600 flight voucher!
To take part in the challenge, participants need only share this Facebook post with the hashtag #Envision10kChallenge as well as leave a comment with a personal intention for 2020 and tagging a friend. Organizers of the challenge will post one tree in Costa Rica for every share the post gets as well as one for every tagged friend who comments back. The festival will also match every tree purchased here, having already reforested over 45,000 with Costas Verdes forest restoration!
