Meow Wolf Dark Palace postponed in lieu coronavirus event bans

Meow Wolf was on the brink of opening their new Denver location this spring. To mark the milestone, the Santa Fe-based interactive art exhibit and music venue hybrid was preparing to host their second-ever Dark Palace satellite festival on April 9 through 11. That is, until the Colorado Governor’s recent orders to cancel events with more than 250 people to slow the spread of coronavirus.

“In light of the Colorado Governor’s orders to cancel events with more than 250 people to slow coronavirus’s spread, we have postponed Dark Palace,” the company said on their event page. “We will be refunding tickets 100% and this will be processed automatically in the next few days. We thank you for your patience as we process your refunds.”

A Meow Wolf Dark Palace media representative told CE they do have place to postpone to a future date, although that has yet-to-be-determined. Meow Wolf joins the laundry list of sprint time 2020 festivals around the world to cancel or postpone, including Ultra Miami, Tomorrowland Winter, SXSW, BUKU, Deja Voom, Lightning in a Bottle, Desert Hearts, Beyond Wonderland, Coachella, and more.

In addition, Meow Wolf will be shutting their doors at their Santa Fe headquarters with all events cancelled until April 15.
