Midweek Mantra Mix 044: Mersiv delivers stunning downtempo live stream set for MorFlo Beat Retreat
Wednesday is humpday, which not only marks the halfway point between the work week and the coveted weekend, but also Conscious Electronic’s Midweek Mantra Mix (M3). We’ve been scouring the web’s most enlightening bass music mixes that align with our vision, to provide “a conscious way to consume dance music.” M3 spotlights both veteran and up-and-coming bass music artists whose music seeks to raise the vibrations of their collective listener base.
Anderson Benoit Gallegos is the face behind the ever-expanding Mersiv sound project. The hotly rising bass music producer out of Denver has been caught in CE‘s sights for some time now. A young producer with a conscious mindset, his music has gained him a spot on our Midweek Mantra Mix for a yogic downtempo mix, along with a recent CE interview with Gallegos ahead of his Gem & Jam Festival appearance back in February.
There’s no denying that Mersiv is a master of fusing the heavy with the downtempo. His growing musical catalog has long married the beautiful and the filthy. In fact, Mersiv’s downtempo sets are gaining quite the reputation. One of Mersiv’s recent downtempo sets that has flown under the radar recently has been his MorFlo Beat Retreat set, streamed live from Twitch on April 9, 2020. Why so under the radar? Probably because Gallegos only released the set from a private link to his Soundcloud. Thankfully, we’ve been able to get our hands on it thanks to the beautifully replicating nature of the internet and Soundcloud user @cisham99, who recorded that mix for all the world to experience publically.
Mersiv’s MorFlo Beat Retreat mix contains a plethora of emotional tracks perfectly mixed into a calming, meditative journey through the bass music he’s been gravitating toward. From Supertask and CharlestheFirst‘s “Borealis” and Govinda‘s “Higher and Higher” to CloZee‘s remix of David Starfire‘s “Soma Dreams” and a memorable remix fo deadmau5 and Kaskade‘s “I Remember,” the entire mix soothes to the core. Not to mention, Mersiv spotlights a few of his favorite self-produced tracks, including a remix of Supertask and Saint Sinner‘s “Get To You,” his VIP treatment of “Broken,” and a special ID to end the mixtape journey.
Mersiv’s MorFlo Beat Retreat mix is the perfect encapsulation of how downtempo bass music should sound and feel. Furthermore, it sharpens many of the other senses and attunes the heart frequency, making it the perfect selection for CE‘s Midweek Mantra Mix. Listen below and check out the tracklist.
