pluko announces new ‘Color Blind’ LP out this month
Producer/artist pluko announces his new album, COLOR BLIND, set for release on May 29. The 13 track record includes pluko’s recent single releases, including “higher” with Panama, “used to” with Cassette Tapes, “blessings,” ft. Nate Travellers, and “the lovely one” — as well as nine brand new songs.
“My entire goal for COLOR BLIND was to write something that everyone can enjoy and listen to, even non-electronic fans,” pluko writes of the forthcoming record. “I tried to create a vibe that feels extremely fresh. Something that nobody has heard before. I wanted people to hear this album and instantly think ‘oh that’s that new pluko sound.’ COLOR BLIND is supposed to represent a moment in time where music is the only thing that you let affect you.”
COLOR BLIND is pluko’s second studio album. His debut album, sixteen, was released in 2018 on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective, which was followed by his independently released mixtape, CLASS XIX. pluko expands his sound into new territory on COLOR BLIND, experimenting with glistening synth-work and cinematic percussion, and collaborating with other artists, producers, and songwriters like Panama, Nate Traveller, Cassette Tapes, and ilo ilo.
At only 19-years-old, Hallidaysburg, PA native Sam Martinsen has grown pluko into an internationally renowned project. His releases have racked up over 60 million streams across platforms, leading to major festival slots at Coachella, Firefly Festival, and HARD Summer. Last year, pluko launched Splendid Society, a record label, collective, and fashion brand. Splendid Society will be producing limited edition COLOR BLIND merch to coincide with the album release.
