Rising Bass Spotlight: SLZRD and Common Creation tear things up on dangerously heavy joint, ‘Rumble Road’
Here at Conscious Electronic, we love all things bass — breakbeat, downtempo, left-field, experimental, dubstep in all its forms, you name it. As the underground bass movement has begun its full ascendancy in the US, we’ve been keeping a finger on the pulse of up-and-coming bass artists the country over. As such, CE’s Rising Bass Spotlight seeks to shine a light onto the rising producers who’re honing their craft, galvanizing their movements, and attuning eyes, ears, heads, and bodies into all things low end.
22-year-old producer, Sami Rouchdi, is the man behind the SLZRD project. With over five years of experience mixing, SLZRD has made a name for himself with the ability to blend multiple genres into each of his high energy sets. Having shared the stage with widely-known acts such as Manic Focus, Dorfex Bos, Esseks, Mersiv, Daily Bread, G-Space, and Mystic Grizzly, Rouchdi is becoming well-known to melt the faces of bass music lovers.

Infusing live drumming and instrumentation with the heavier electronic music, Common Creation is electro, hip-hop, and future funk producer Chris Teel. Teel has likewise been garnering a good amount of attention in the underground bass community, with upwards of 4,000 followers across platforms. Most recently, Common Creation came to Gramatik’s Lowtemp Records for his Manufactured Moments EP.

Along with playing synths and guitar, Teel lays down a heavy blend of glitch-hop, funk, dubstep, trap, and more. His resulting live performance is an eclectic mix of original music and hand-selected electronic gems, blended into well-known hip-hop tracks, old school psychedelic soul, and mind-blowing experimental bass.
Both artists have previously released with Electric Hawks’ debut label compilation, In Harmony, and now they’ve captured our ears at Conscious Electronic with their newest joint effort, titled “Rumble Road.” In fact, we like the collaboration so much that it’s only proper to include them in our list of Rising Bass Spotlight producers.
Fast-paced and full of genre switch-ups, “Rumble Road” is the newest release off of Electric Hawk Records. Featuring untamed synths, reverberating basslines, and winding sound design, this track is sure to leave one with the feeling like they’ve been driving through whirling country back roads while an earthquake is going on. Listen to the pair’s newest creation below, which is sure to take listeners with a predilection for heavy bass on a wild ride.
