First emerging in 2017, sonic innovator PEEKABOO has left a firm stamp and impression on electronic music at large. Defined by a signature sound design that marries modern bass music with a leading edge in nuance, the producer’s catalog has become an instantly recognizable sound of the time. For his latest flex in modernization, PEEKABOO is teaming up with the UK’s CASPA for a heavy-hitting collab, “Reload,” out now on Deadbeats.
“Reload is an absolute bass hitter,” according to PEEKABOO in a press statement. Equipped with a signature PEEKABOO repeated lyric that drives the track’s forward momentum, it’s clear to see his distinctive marks. That is not to say Caspa’s fingerprints on the track are not indistinguishable. Caspa adds, “Our sounds match and flow very well. Grimey, Dark, Fun with a hint of lemon face!“ The UK dubstep pioneer adds in some grimey, machine gun-style synths to undergird the track, which matches well with PEEKABOO’s paralytic drops.
