Manic Focus enlists Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli and Break Science’s Borham Lee on ‘Lyrebird’
Manic Focus is gearing up for his forthcoming LP release with another easy-listening single from Lost in a Digital World, due out this September. The latest track, “Lyrebird,” follows two previously released tracks, “Never Grew Up” and “All This Is,” respectively.
On “Lyrebird,” Manic Focus enlists the help of Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli and Break Science’s Borahm Lee for a robust and fluid number. The track strikes the perfect chord with listeners, balancing classic cool jazz elements and new-age electronic tones. Characterized by Manic focus’ vibrant chirping synths and electro breakdowns, Lalli’s smooth saxophone solos, and Lee’s expertly crafted spacey key arrangement, the track represents the perfect fusion of styles from the three artists. On their own, each is celebrated for their own uniquely different contributions to forwarding the electro-soul/funk genre. Together, they represent the perfect triadic fusion of raw talent.
Lost in a Digital World serves as an eagerly–anticipated follow-up to Manic Focus’ fifth studio album, 2017’s Minds Rising, which was heralded as an expert collection of future funk sounds heavily marinated in a hip-hop influenced aesthetic. By the sound of the already-released three tracks, Manic Focus appears to be shying away from the hip-hop influences as he experiments with newly evolving sounds. Fans will find out come September.
