Bassnectar on BassCenter XII: ‘get ready for bootleg overload, Hampton’
The twelfth edition of BassCenter is taking place at the end of the month and The Mothership is all Bassnectar fans can talk about. With a line-up boasting Troyboi, Ganja White Night, The Widdler, Khiva, and more, plus two extended Bassnectar sets, the two-night run promises to be Bassnectar’s most tabloid-esque yet.
Of all his seasonal curated gatherings, BassCenter has long been known to be most Hollywood of them all. Bassnectar always delivers on his most-sought-after rarities and fan-requested tracks, all across the year’s most spectacular lighting rig, towering LED screens, and millions of kilowatted PK sound. However, this year could see more ripped and bootlegged material leftover from a forced cancellation of Freestyle Sessions night two.
Some of the Dreamtempo set was pushed into Freestyle’s third night “freakparty” set, where the Bassnectar team mad-dashed to relocate the event from 1stBank Center to the Denver Coliseum for a dark, underground laser party. Other Dreamtempo tracks appeared in Bassnectar’s twenty year anniversary mixtape, Tempo of Dreams. But there is still a wealth of material leftover from the Dreamtempo evening that Bassnectar is dying to play live for his cult fanbase.
Recently, Bassnectar responded to a fan over Twitter who asked him to ID a ripped track he played at Be Interactive in Nashville. Not only did he identify the track, he said he saved it especially for the fundraiser event. He also revealed he’s been working on “customized bootlegged edits of everything this summer,” which he’s saving for a “bootleg overload” in Hampton. Cue the mass hysteria.
