Blanke goes 2-for-2 on Ophelia with emotive bass ballad, ‘Survive’ ft. Luma
JP Orchison, known as Blanke, has returned to Ophelia Records with his newest offering, “Survive,” featuring Nashville-based vocalist, Luma. Continuing with his winning string of melodic releases on Seven Lions’ esteemed imprint, “Survive” is Blanke’s second original solo release—following “Spark,” released on the label in early 2021.
The double hits on Ophelia are hardly a surprise given how during his first year of North American touring, Blanke landed a deal with United Talent Agency (UTA) in 2019 and was booked to play festivals such as Paradiso, Global Dance, Hard Summer, Dancefestopia, and EDC Las Vegas. Around the same time, Orchison also became a regular staple on lineups for Deadbeats and Brownies & Lemonade, before signing on as a supporting act for Illenium’s massive Ascend arena tour, and Black Tiger Sex Machine‘s 40+ date NA tour immediately thereafter.
Maintaining the same momentum throughout 2020, while also keeping up with his informal title as a serial remixer, Blanke has provided remix duties for SLANDER, Zeds Dead, and even the iconic video game League of Legends. With his single “Alchemy” hitting the No. 1 most played position on Triple J Radio, Blanke became one of the first artists post-quarantine to push forward with a national tour across his native Australia.
Luma (real name: Brittany Cannarozzi) brings moody vocals to complement Blanke’s downtempo tunes. The powerhouse EDM vocalist matches Blanke’s momentum, continuing to move forward in her career with her voice being included electronic tracks across over fifteen different labels. Her emotion-provoking vocals have gained the attention of Sirius XM radio, Spotify’s Friday Cratediggers, Stepping Out, Sad Beats, Pop Chillout, and Apple’s Pop Rising and Breaking Dance playlists; all while remaining completely independent. Starting off 2021 with a huge collaboration “Wonder,” alongside Yetep and CRAVE, Luma has become one of the dance music world’s most coveted vocalists.
