Whethan gives Travis Scott x Skrillex’s ‘Sicko Mode’ a turn for the better
This past week, Skrillex surprise released his remix of Travis Scott‘s “SICKO MODE,” featuring Drake. The track originally appeared on Scott’s ASTROWORLD LP, which still sits at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
In a mere matter of days, Skrillex’s remix has caused quite the rift in the dance music world. On one side, some are calling it big and bland. On the other, it’s igniting conversations for “SICKO MODE” as a major contender for song of the year.
Hot off the heals of his recently debuted Life of a Wallflower Vol. 1 EP, Whethan has delivered what he calls a “turn” of Skrillex’s highly visible remix. In shortening the track to under three minutes, yet holding onto Skrillex’s dub-heavy elements, the Chicago-based producer given the remixed take a turn for the better.
