Miami Beach Commission votes no on Ultra moving to South Beach
In the quest for Ultra Miami‘s next home, the search hasn’t been easy. The festival was first booted from Virginia Key after a plague of issues at their 2019 installation. Then, rumors were confirmed that Homestead Speedway offered Ultra a home in 2020, despite organizers pursuing South Beach in order to stay in the city.
Now South Beach can be ruled out completely. In a 3-4 decision, the Miami Beach commission has officially voted against bringing Ultra Music Festival to the city in 2020. Holding the festival in South Beach would have been more convenient for attendees traveling to the many clubs and afterparties held after Ultra each night. Not to mention, there is the huge economic benefit of keeping spending within the Greater Miami borders.
It seems Homestead is the clear frontrunner as of recent happenings. But if there’s one thing that stands true for Ultra unfoldings, it’s that tomorrow is a new day and a new dollar.
