The mark of any great dance music remix rests in an artist’s ability to put their own stamp on a favorite tune, all the while leaving the original recognizably in-tact. Whether it’s a producer whose given the enviable task of official remix duties or a newcomer striving to leave their footprint on a great artist’s hallmark track, good remixes are virtually everywhere. Great remixes, however, happen in the magical moment that a remixer finds that sweet spot in the studio. That’s why CE has scoured the interwebs in search of the latest and greatest remixes — all wrapped into one easy-listening playlist. This is the Remix Radar.

This past month, there was so so much good new music that we couldn’t narrow the list down any further than 35 artists. Not only did GRiZ and Wreckno release their remix package for the hit summer Pride Month track, “Medusa,” but CloZee released her Neon Jungle Remixes album loaded up with high-profile remixers like OPIUO, Of The Trees, Lane 8, and more, and Kumarion doled out another remix package for his hit 2020 single, “Want It,” which happens to have enlisted Wreckno for a sassy vocal edit as well as the legendary Spor. Malaa also releases a remix pack for “Hell” with various lesser-known producers taking on remixing responsibilities.

Beyond those, Illenium began rolling out his forthcoming remix EP for “Paper Thin,” his high-profile collaboration with Angel & Airwaves’ Tom DeLonge. Thus far, Brooks and LUN!X have taken on redoing the track. Finally, Tycho kicked off the rollout of a new remix package for 2019’s Weather LP, of which Satin Jackets has thus far released a remix of the Saint sinner-assisted track, “Japan.”

Tons of great house and trance remixers enter into the list as well, with The Brothers Macklovitch, Dombresky, Four Tet, Gareth Emery, Solardo, and Tiësto remixing various artists across the musical spectrum. Also, SNBRN remixed BIJOU’s “New Ways To Love,” Tiga remixed Elderbrook’s “Back To Bed,” and MK did his very own MK Dub remix for his track, “2am.”

In the bass music corner, um.. took on Zeds Dead and DMNO’s “We Could Be Kings,” NIK P tackled Alina Baraz’s “More Than Enough,” Cōfresi flipped The Lion King’s “Circle of Life,” and Nu Strut took a stab at remixing the hip-hop artist clipping.’s “Summertime.” Finally, The Glitch Mob kicked off their reissue rollout for Drink The Sea (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) with two remixed releases, including STS9’s “Beyond Right Now” and Nalepa’s “Monday.”

Perhaps most potently, the recently-passed producer i_o released an extended remix of the classic trance staple song, “Castles In The Sky,” just four days before his untimely death.
